Speaker/Presenter Bios

Ray Sickinger National Council Formation Liaison

Raymond Sickinger is a member of the Providence College ordinary faculty since September of 1974, Raymond Sickinger has served in a variety of administrative and teaching positions. He is currently Professor of History and Public and Community Service Studies, and serves as Chair of the Department of History and Classics. In recent years his research interests in History have revolved around the impact of faith and service in the case of Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. The University of Notre Dame Press has recently published Ray’s biography of Ozanam. Simply entitled Antoine Frédéric Ozanam, the book is the first comprehensive biography of Ozanam in English in some time.

Ray has been a member of the Society for over thirty years and has served as a conference president, district council president, National Council Member, Regional VP, and Vice President for Vincentian Services. Ray currently is a member of the National Board of Directors and serves as Liaison for Formation.
