In this three-part Formation and Training you will learn about Formation, the role of the Spiritual Advisor, tools, resources, and reflections you can use, and Vincentian Discernment and Consensus.
This is designed for all Spiritual Advisors and Associate Spiritual Advisors, and recommended for Conference and Council Presidents. Any members interested in becoming Spiritual Advisors are also welcome to attend.

Tim Williams is the National Director of Formation for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States. Before joining the national staff, he served as 1st Vice President and Senior Formator for the Diocesan Council of Dallas, chaired the Spiritual Advisor Handbook Task Force, and was a member of the National Formation Committee. He has presented on Vincentian Spirituality and Formation at numerous Diocesan, Regional, and National Assemblies. Most importantly, he and his wife have made hundreds of Home Visits, serving Christ in the person of the poor.
James Davis is a registered nurse who held a variety of staff and leadership positions in the Vincentian Health Care ministry at Ascension/Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin, Texas. He is a member of the National Formation Committee and has worked with teams to develop Spiritual Advisor Training, Home Visit Training and now Vincentian Discernment and Consensus. James is a member of the St. Austin’s Parish Saint Vincent de Paul Society Conference in Austin Texas and serves as the Conference Spiritual Advisor. He also serves as Spiritual Advisor for the South Central Region. His passion is the integration of Vincentian Spirituality into all aspects of Conference and Council Life.
