John serves as the National Vice President for the Southeast Region and is a member of the Strategic Plan and Governance Committees. He is a member of the United Way of Greater Atlanta Public Policy Committee. He holds a BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Idaho and a Business Degree from Kennesaw State University. He is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta and the ARC Regional Leadership Institute. He is a Member of the Executive Board of the Entrepreneur Degree Program at Kennesaw State University. John formerly chaired the Nonprofit CEO Roundtable for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Rotary Club, the American Marketing Association, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Michelle Boyer was born and raised in St. Louis City. She attended Missouri State University where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Print and Internet Journalism with a Minor in Spanish. She began working for the SVdP national office as the communications administrative associate in 2014. Among her responsibilities at SVdP are the E-Gazette and social media. Michelle is an active member of the St. Gabriel the Archangel parish in South St. Louis City.

A Vincentian for 20 years, Brian Burgess has served the Society in a variety of areas of responsibility. This includes serving as Conference President, District Council Vice President, mentor, Peer Review Committee member and, most recently, Diocesan Council President. As Diocesan Council president, Brian served Vincentians across the three districts and 23 Conferences of the Diocese of Shreveport (LA). Brian is a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Disaster Services Corporation. He attended the Society’s leadership program, Invitation for Renewal, in 2010. Since 2006, His current role is a program manager whose primary responsibilities include managing both the government-related research project portfolio at Praeses, as well as the commercial software development work done for a large defense contractor.

A native of Bossier City, LA, Brian received his B.S. in Physics from Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge) in 1983 and M.S. in Systems Technology from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in 1990. He is the proud father of daughter Kristen and grandfather of Henry.

Elizabeth Disco-Shearer is the CEO of the Disaster Services Corporation for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA in the Washington, DC Metro area. She oversees the disaster relief and recovery efforts of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States and American Territories. In this role, she has extensive experience in the management of disaster response and has deployed to the California Wildfires, Hurricanes Florence, Irma, Harvey, Maria, Matthew, Michael, and other tornado and flooding events. Her work in DC involves interactions with FEMA leadership and coordination with other national leaders and policymakers in the disaster arena.

Bishop Hying serves as Episcopal Advisor to the U.S. Society of St. Vincent de Paul, as well as Episcopal Liaison for the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. He is also a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Subcommittee to Aid the Church in Central and Eastern Europe, the Committee on the Protection of Children and Young People, and the Committee on Catholic Education.

Ralph Middlecamp is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. He served as the executive director and CEO of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for the District Council of Madison from 1999 until his retirement on July 31, 2017. Ralph became National Council President in 2017 and is on the presenting team of the Society’s national leadership renewal program, Invitation for Renewal. Ralph also is a past member of the International Council General’s Commission for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Frederic Ozanam. Ralph is married to Dr. Cathy Hurt Middlecamp, who is on the faculty of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Deacon Jeff Montgomery was ordained to the permanent diaconate on December 1, 2018 at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Birmingham, Alabama. He serves at Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama. He helped establish the Mercy Conference of St. Vincent de Paul and serves as the group’s Spiritual Advisor. He also serves as the Spiritual Advisor for the St. Vincent de Paul Council of North Alabama and for the Southeast Subregion of St. Vincent de Paul USA. Deacon Jeff works at Marshall Space Flight Center for Teledyne Brown Engineering where he manages the training and simulation group. Previously he worked at Johnson Space Center as an instructor and flight controller training astronauts for extended stays on the International Space Station. Deacon Jeff and his wife Liz have been married for over 32 years and have two daughters. They enjoy sharing ministry together, especially visits to the sick, homebound, and elderly. They also like finding unique shops, traveling, and cooking.

Kevin Peach is the COO of the Disaster Services Corporation for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of USA (DSC). Kevin is an emergency management professional recognized for his ability to create domestic public-private partnerships to drive cross-sector collaboration. He has served in various capacities to advise the National Security Council (NSC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), and private industry.

Joe Sabatino currently serves as Chair of the Society’s National Housing Task Force. At the local level, he serves on the Board for SVdP Cares in St. Petersburg, and is a past Diocesan President for the Venice, Florida Council. In addition, he previously served as a Past District Council President for Charlotte County, Florida. A retired Exxon Mobil executive and Vietnam veteran, he has been active in the Punta Gorda community, serving as president of the Burnt Store Isles Association and chairman of the city’s Utility Advisory Board.

Tim Williams is the National Director of Formation for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States. Before joining the national staff, he served as 1st Vice President and Senior Formator for the Diocesan Council of Dallas, chaired the Spiritual Advisor Handbook Task Force, and was a member of the National Formation Committee. He has presented on Vincentian Spirituality and Formation at numerous Diocesan, Regional, and National Assemblies. Most importantly, he and his wife have made hundreds of home visits, serving Christ in the person of the poor.
